19 Nov A Letter from Me

Hi readers,

I apologize we didn’t get a chance to connect here for very long and frequently (Though I know most of you are probably friends with me through my other blog and social networks!), but I assure you that we will in a brand new way. Due to the inactivity on this blog—and to coincide with the transformation of my entertainment blog Karen On—A Professional Dreamer is closing its doors. That means, don’t hope for new content to show up (Even though you probably weren’t for the past several months). This blog will be linked to in my portfolio as a means of archiving.

I wrote a letter in Karen On last Friday explaining my absence from the blogosphere, and how I will make the new version of the mothership what A Professional Dreamer was supposed to be. In a way, I am simply consolidating this blog with my entertainment blog. Please read my post if you have not yet, as it explains everything you need to know about this transition.

Again, I am very sorry that I was not able to be here much, but I hope that the relaunch of Karen On is the new beginning for us all. Thank you for reading and for your feedback on my posts in A Professional Dreamer. I hope you are able to join me in the next chapter of my story.

Another blog??!

Hello. I’m Karen Datangel. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably seen me before—posting comments at any given website or blog across the Internets, at American Idol concerts all around the country, mysteriously yet innocently roaming your neighborhood with a clipboard in my hand. If you haven’t seen me before, well, it’s nice to meet you too. I hope you welcome me into your life but I know I can be too intensely weird and not suitable for all audiences.

I strive to be an established writer and this blog will chronicle my journey and my everyday life. Currently, I regularly inform and engage through my entertainment review blog Karen On, but after a particularly upsetting let-down last week, I decided I wanted an outlet to channel all of my feelings—both the positive and the negative and about everything from the job market and the pros and cons of commuting to who my latest celebrity crushes are and my out-there ideas for screenplays. Plus, I’ve been really inspired by many of the bloggers in my social networks and those that get featured on WordPress.com’s “Freshly Pressed” homepage (I swear I’m not doing this to try to get on there) and I really wanted to try that more personal approach to blogging. I want to share experiences, observations, thoughts, lessons, and goals with people and be more open about myself, and I’m a strong believer in the phrase “If you can dream it, you can do it.” So I’m going to toss out all of my dreams on here so they’re not buried in the depths of my scrambled mind.

Check out my meticulously crafted and incredibly detailed About page for more about me and what you’ll soon be reading from here. This blog is still in its baby stages, so I certainly welcome suggestions for anything to make it better aesthetically or functionally and if you have writing prompts, bring it! Also, I’d like to add a sidebar with links to YOUR blogs so if you have one—whether it be about entertainment, food, travel, your life journeys, etc—let me know and I’ll be glad to list you as a Friend. And please spread the word and share posts that you like!

Looking forward to all of you being a part of my actual and imaginary adventures!
